OUR FIRST COEGI LAB!
Making History With Our First COEGI Lab at Armwood High School!
With the donations raised and the support from our partners and volunteers, we are excited to announce our first school recipient for a COEGI Lab! Close to home, at a local Tampa high school, we collaborated with Armwood High School to transform a classroom into a shared space where students can both learn and teach others. This advanced lab will revolutionize how we approach math, environmental science, biotechnology, physical science, robotics, entrepreneurship, and information technology.
This incredible space will benefit both traditional and dual-enrollment students, offering a range of opportunities to help them develop skills, knowledge, and confidence that will serve them throughout their lives. Whether they are interested in joining the Robotics team or exploring the world of newscasting, graphic design, AR/VR, and more, this lab is designed to offer them the tools and support they need to achieve their goals.
Our lab is a hub for programs like DECA. As part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department, DECA students can utilize this lab to hone their business and entrepreneurial skills. DECA is an international organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The COEGI Lab will be a perfect space for these students to develop, pitch, and execute their business ideas.
This lab includes a fully equipped pod, with its acoustics and visuals providing an ideal setting for students to work on their presentation skills. The industrial furniture and tools will allow them to create prototypes and models of their products. The fully equipped pod offers students stellar acoustics and visuals for solo or group projects, such as sound mixing, podcasting, and newscasting, while providing transparency and ventilation.
At its core, this lab is a testament to the power of collaboration and community. By supporting education, we are helping create a brighter future for our youth and our world. Every student has the potential to achieve great things, and we hope that this lab will inspire them to dream big and work hard to make those dreams a reality.

The groundwork for our vision
In the later months of 2021, with the help of our partners, employees, and customers in our convenience stores, Giant raised over $28,000 in just a few months. We are constantly challenging ourselves to extend our reach to our local communities, which should have the chance to take advantage of opportunities that would not be available to them typically.
With the conclusion of 2021’s initiative to fuel educators and students with the resources they need to succeed, Giant has already taken significant steps to extend our community reach by tackling more causes that are neglected and negatively affecting communities.
